"Often
times in the Bahá'í writings the angelic spirit of divine inspiration is
symbolized by a youthful maiden. In this painting, I depict her as a
representative of the spiritual world who is standing and surveying the
world of creation from her exalted space. I utilized the design of the
nautilus shell as representative of Divine perfection both in this world
and the world of the spirit, which is at once familiar and illusive,
abstract and real. She symbolizes, in my presentation, the
guardian of mysteries."
"The visual
imagery created by the language of this narrative is a true feast for
those who sit at the table of wonderment and as a painter, it sets my
mind awhirl."
