Kevin Beilfuss

(American)

After graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Kevin Beilfuss began a career as an illustrator that continued for 13 years. He completed paintings for many magazine and book publishers, including; Readers Digest, Golf Digest, Signs of the Times, Guideposts, Focus on the Family, Houghton Mifflin, Penguin Publishing, and Harlequin, as well as many others. " I always dreamed of becoming an illustrator," explains the artist.   "But the demands of painting someone else's ideas finally took it's toll. I decided that life is too short and that I had to paint from my heart," says Beilfuss. "Having a sense of wonder in a painting is important to me. That sense of wonder most often comes from painting the human figure. You can obviously see the beauty of God's creation in a landscape, but for me it is even more profound when I see and experience that beauty in people'"

For the artist there is nothing more challenging than to be able to paint the human figure. " There are endless possibilities when painting a person. Even If you were to paint that same model over and over again, you can always explore and find something new and beautiful to express in a painting." says the artist. He hopes to express that same beauty he finds in his models to the viewer, so that they may share the same sense of wonder at God's creation.

Kevin Beilfuss is currently content with the joy he experiences through the painting process. " I look forward to learning every day, and am thankful that God allows me to be able to continue to do something I have loved since childhood, and hopefully continue to enjoy the rest of my life."
