(b. 1954 Sandica, Romania)

Geta was born in Craiova-the capital of Oltenia-a region of Romania.  She started to paint from age 5, later studying at Nicolae Balcescu Art School where she had been noticed for her drawing skills.  Geta attended Bucharest University in 1980, where she studied History-Philosophy.  She later studied painting at Francoise Conte Academy in Paris.

From 1986-1988 she studied painting with prof. George Paul Mihail.  She had her first exhibition in 1986, then a second in 1988.  It was after the 1989 Romania Revolution, which ended 42 years of Russia rule, that Geta started her career as a professional painter.  In 1990 she had her first Bucharestian solo exhibition, which led to her attracting the attention of better and better galleries in Bucharest for exhibitions each year.

Throughout the 90’s, she participated in exhibitions in France and Germany.  From 1996-1998, she attended the Francoise Conte Academy of Art in Paris, being licensed in 1998.  In 1998 she became a member of the International Salon of Independents-Paris. In 2003, she received the Silver Medal of Merit et Devouement Francais.  She became a member of the International Federation of Women Artists in 2002.  She has had exhibitions in Paris, Dusseldorf, Koln, Madrid, and New York.
