GEORGETA GRABOVSCHI
(b. 1954 Sandica, Romania)
Geta was born in
Craiova-the capital of Oltenia-a region of Romania. She started to
paint from age 5, later studying at Nicolae Balcescu Art School where
she had been noticed for her drawing skills. Geta attended Bucharest
University in 1980, where she studied History-Philosophy. She later
studied painting at Francoise Conte Academy in Paris.
From 1986-1988
she studied painting with prof. George Paul Mihail. She had her first
exhibition in 1986, then a second in 1988. It was after the 1989
Romania Revolution, which ended 42 years of Russia rule, that Geta
started her career as a professional painter. In 1990 she had her first
Bucharestian solo exhibition, which led to her attracting the attention
of better and better galleries in Bucharest for exhibitions each year.
Throughout the
90’s, she participated in exhibitions in France and Germany. From
1996-1998, she attended the Francoise Conte Academy of Art in Paris,
being licensed in 1998. In 1998 she became a member of the
International Salon of Independents-Paris. In 2003, she received the
Silver Medal of Merit et Devouement Francais. She became a member of
the International Federation of Women Artists in 2002. She has had
exhibitions in Paris, Dusseldorf, Koln, Madrid, and New York.

important people from the Romanian public life, like:
HM-Princess Margareta of Hohentzolern; HE-Mr.M.Chapuis the Ambassador of
Switzerland;
Mr.Traian Basescu-the President of Romania, Mr.Calin Popescu
Tariceanu-the Prime Minister of Romania and the President of Liberal
Party, Mr.Adrian Nastase-previous Prime Minister, Mr.Mircea Geoana-the
President of PSD, Mr.Dan Ioan Popescu-Minister,;Mr Victor
Stupcanu-general,dep.chief of Police ;Mrs.Ioana Basescu-the daughter of
the Pres.of.Romania; Mr.Sergiu Celibidache-the son and the nephew of the
director.
Geta’s modern
style is bold and elegant. Her modern figures have caught the attention
